The Scene From Above Podcast

Alastair Graham (@ajggeoger) and Andrew Cutts (@map_andrew) come together to present an informal podcast (@eoscenefrom) looking at the world of modern remote sensing and EO.

Fuelled by their passion for all things raster and geospatial, the #scenefromabove podcast aims to be a mix of news, opinion, discussion and interviews.

Please be aware that in August 2020 the podcast changed its hosting provider. The majority of listeners should be unaffected, but if you used the xml feed starting '' directly, then you will need to update your podcast software to point towards the new feed
For everyone else, your podcast software should refresh with the new feed soon.
If you have any issues, contact Alastair or Andrew via Twitter.

About Us

Alastair is an independent remote sensing and environmental consultant who just wants everything to work and be that little bit easier! He loves the cool stuff around Earth observation but is concious not to over-hype it. He likes open stuff too: data, code, systems, organisations.
Andrew is a freelancer. He uses a combination of Python, GIS and Earth Observation to help clients get insights from their data. When not working/blogging/podcasting he is often out running in the South Downs or imagining building a pizza oven in his back garden.

Have You Scene?

Award Winning Podcast

We are amazed and incredibly excited by the awarding of the RSPSoc 2019 Business Innovation Award to the Scene From Above podcast. This is a huge honour given that we are just trying to create the podcast that we want to hear, and that we think the community wants to hear as well. It's been an incredible journey so far and we want to continue to communicate the amazing things that are happening in the sector as best we know how. Huge thanks to RSPSoc and to the community of listeners that supports us.

The Scene From Above Strava club

Did you know that we have set up a Scene From Above Strava club? This might not seem an obvious thing to do, but we are aware that so many of us spend all our working lives looking at a screen. We encourage time away from a computer, for as long as you want, doing whatever activity you want to help balance physical and metal wellbeing. And if you want to share that then join us on Strava (yes, another screen!). We welcome everyone, whatever you do and at whatever level.

Other podcast appearances

Alastair has chatted with Daniel over on the MapScaping podcast a few times.

and has been interviewed by Steven on the Geomob podcast
